Before Your First Laser Treatment
All laser services are subject to consultation and a medical suitability assessment. A patch test is required at least 48 hours before your first treatment, or if there have been changes to your health, medication or sun exposure. Your Henko practitioner will confirm the preparation and aftercare instructions for you.
A Patient Guide to the Laser Hair Removal Journey
This guide explains the questions to discuss before laser hair removal, why consultation and patch testing matter, how to prepare for the appointment and why treatment response varies.
It is general information rather than individual medical advice. Your Henko practitioner will confirm whether treatment is suitable for you.
Why Consultation and Patch Testing Come First
The consultation gives you and the practitioner time to discuss the treatment area, your goals and relevant health, medication and recent sun-exposure information. A patch test is included in Henko's consultation route.
The practitioner uses this information to assess suitability and explain the proposed treatment plan, preparation and aftercare. Tell the studio if anything changes before treatment.
Your Goals
Explain the areas you want to treat and the outcome you are hoping to achieve.
Relevant History
Share relevant health, medication, skin and recent sun-exposure information.
Individual Plan
Ask about suitability, course planning, preparation, expected response and maintenance.
Preparing for Laser Hair Removal
Treatment areas must be shaved 12–24 hours before your appointment. Avoid waxing, threading or plucking for at least four weeks before treatment.
Tell Henko about any changes to your health, medication, skincare or recent sun exposure before the appointment. Follow the instructions provided at your consultation and contact the studio if you are unsure about preparation.
Treatment Courses and Realistic Expectations
Results vary from person to person depending on hair type, hormonal factors and adherence to the recommended treatment plan. Multiple sessions are required because laser is most effective during specific stages of the hair growth cycle.
Your practitioner will recommend and review your individual treatment plan. Laser hair removal is used for progressive hair reduction; a permanent result is not guaranteed.
Aftercare and When to Contact Henko
Avoid sun exposure, tanning products and active skincare, such as retinoids or exfoliating acids, before and after treatment as advised by your practitioner. Follow the aftercare instructions provided for your treatment.
Contact Henko if you have concerns about your response or if your health, medication, skin or sun exposure changes before the next appointment.
